Source Notes:
The detection was announced during a talk on 03 March at HEAD 2010

Source position and its uncertainty:
From H.E.S.S. Collaboration (2013):
- R.A. (J2000): 15h 12m 52.2s +/- 1.8s (stat) +/- 1.3s (syst)
- Dec. (J2000): -09d 06' 21.6" +/- 26.5" (stat) +/- 20.0" (syst)

Spectral Information:
From MAGIC Collaboration (2018):
Low state:
- Spectral index: 3.97 +/- 0.23 (measured)
- Spectral index: 3.26 +/- 0.30 (corrected for EBL)

From Ahnen et al. (2017):
This paper describes observations of PKS 1510-089 taken by MAGIC
during a long, high gamma-ray state in May 2015. Significant gamma-ray
variability was seen for the first time. The spectrum was measured
during two periods: Period A (MJD ∼ 57160 - 57161), corresponding to a
higher emission state, and Period B (MJD ∼ 57164 -57166),
corresponding to a lower emission state.
- Period A spectral index (measured): 4.59 +/- 0.75 (stat)
- Period A spectral index (intrinsic): 3.17 +/- 0.80 (stat)
- Period B spectral index (measured): 4.75 +/- 0.62 (stat)
- Period B spectral index (intrinsic): 4.33 +/- 0.75 (stat)
The statistical uncertainty on the spectral index is much larger than
the typical systematic uncertainty of +/- 0.15 of the observations
performed with the MAGIC telescopes.

From Zacharias et al. (2017):
This paper discusses a VHE flare from PKS 1510-089 on MJD 57538 (30 May 2016):
- H.E.S.S. spectral index: 2.9 +/- 0.2 (intrinsic)
- MAGIC spectral index: 3.37 +/- 0.09 (intrinsic)
The spectrum corresponding to both the MAGIC and the
H.E.S.S. observing windows was measured by Fermi:
- "The photon index during the H.E.S.S. window equals 1.4 +/- 0.2,
while it is 1.7 +/- 0.2 during the MAGIC window"
- "The May-2016-flare in PKS 1510-089 was a very unusual event, since
the tremendous outburst in the VHE gamma rays has only mild
counterparts in the HE gamma rays and the optical R-band. The flux in
the VHE band varied by more than a factor 10 in a single night, while
in the same night the optical flux varied by only 30%. Surprisingly,
the integrated flux in the HE band did not vary at all, even though
the HE spectrum hardened significantly, with the photon index reaching
values as low as 1.7 +/- 0.1 in 24 h bins."
- "The VHE flux varied on time scales of less than an hour, proving
for the first time intra-night variability in the VHE domain in this
source. The spectra measured by H.E.S.S. and MAGIC were significantly
curved, which can be fully explained by EBL absorption. The intrinsic
VHE spectra are compatible with power-laws."

From Aleksic et al. (2014):
- Spectral index (measured): 3.8 +/- 0.4 (stat) +/- 0.3 (syst)
- Spectral index (intrinsic): 2.5 +/- 0.6 (stat)

From H.E.S.S. Collaboration (2013):
- Spectral index: 5.4 +/- 0.7 (stat) +/- 0.3 (syst)

Flux:
From H.E.S.S. Collaboration (2013):
- the flux corresponds to ~3% of the Crab Nebula flux at the same energies

Variability:
From Sitarek et al. (2017):
- "Though PKS 1510-089 is highly variable at GeV energies, until
recently no variability has been observed in the VHE band. In 2015 May
PKS1510-089 showed a high state in optical and in the GeV range. A
VHE gamma-ray flare was detected with MAGIC at that time, showing the
first instance of VHE gamma-ray flux variability on the time scale of
days in this source."
From H.E.S.S. Collaboration (2013):
- "there is insufficient evidence to claim statistically significant
variability in the VHE data"
